This weekend was a busy one with a long ride on Saturday (42 miles) and a swim meet on Sunday. I posted terrible swim times, but I guess my body is just tired. I hope to do the swim portion of the Ironman in 1hour or less, but not with what I swam yesterday! Also, my running is killing my feet and I am breaking down and seein a podiatrist for orthotics and to see why a shoe doesn't fit me properly. I WANT to be able to run without pain and complete the marathon portion of the Ironman. My cycling was awesome and I got it up to 39 mph for about 1 minute. AWESOME!!! Oh, and two pounds lost, woo hoo!
I have to double up on some workouts this weekend because of my grade's field trip to St. Augustine, so I am off to bed for some early morning swimming/running, good night

Day Off
No school today, so I took this opportunity to catch up on lost sleep. I had a fantastic weekend in South Beach with Bryan, but the consequences of that was that I ate too much yummy food and I did not train AT ALL on Saturday or Sunday. I caught up today by swimming an hour, biking 1/2 hour and running for 40 minutes. I also bought new shoes because my feet were in so much pain. I found out that my left foot is bigger than my right and I pronate on my left but suplate (sp?) on my right. I hope I bought the right ones and they work this time! I got Brook Dyad in 9 wide. Unfortunately, they didn't have pink, but they did have my other favorite color, yellow! They are gray with yellow piping, I pick them up tomorrow after work, since they didn't have the right size at this store ( I had gone to another store and tried on 9s). I will let you know if they work, but boy do I hope so because I hate running due to the pain in my feet. Also to motivate me, I added a weight loss ticker to the blog since I can't seem to get the scale to budge (yes, I know muscle weighs more than fat, but this is ridiculous!) So, hopefully I can reach my goal weight by Aug 29. Off to enjoy the final hours of my day off...

hmm
So I woke up this morning at 4am and managed to accomplish my goals of running for 40 minutes and then swimming for an hour. It felt great and I love working out in the mornings. However, it was COLD this morning (for Florida), but the pool was like bathwater, ahhhh. School was good, nothing new, got the treadmill mat and then preceded to use my bike for only 20 minutes instead of the hour I was supposed to because I was afraid of my downstairs neighbor complaining again. My dad was nice enough to help me compose a note to leave on her door, explaining that I got the mat, I have to train, and am not breaking any condo rules and regulations. Now, off Zona Fresca with Bryan, Hooper, Heather, et. al. Later...

Annoyances
So today started out fine. I began my new mail plan (pictured), my students were well prepared for the FCAT Writes and seemed to have no trouble completing the prompt. But as the day wore on, I realize how much I do not like working with some of my coworkers. Lunch topics normally are how popular they are, their time spent clubbing, putting down others, and in general, being loudmouths. FYI, I do not care that you have a boob job, that your dog peed when it was supposed to, or that you consider a girl eating more than one piece of pizza as classless. Anyways, after work, I was able to get on my bike for 50 minutes (I was supposed to do 1hour 15min) until my downstairs neighbor pounded on my door like Armageddon was following her (It was 7pm, mind you.) She was complaining that my bike was interrupting her dinner. I wouldn't normally have minded, however I was working out before 8pm, I never ride in the mornings or late at night, and she always has something to complain about. I just told her I would stop for tonight, get a mat to put under the bike for tomorrow, and closed the door. However, I will not stop because according to my homeowners association, I am allowed to do noisy things until 8pm. I then went to go for my jog, but it was pouring too hard, and I was too annoyed. So now I have to get up tomorrow at 4am to run and then go swim and make up for the lost bike time tomorrow. I have officially learned my lesson, my workouts need to be done mostly in the morning and tomorrow I will be buying a treadmill mat and then telling my neighbor to suck it up.

Ironman Training Week 11
So, about 11 weeks ago I decided to do something outrageous, I signed up for the Ford Ironman Louisville on August 29, 2010. My real training however, began in January when I got my awesome pink camoflauge, Quintana Roo Tri bike. I've been trying to keep to the workout schedule, but it's been hard. I've decided to blog about my experience to motivate me to workout and accomplish this daunting task. Luckily, I have a great trainer, Will to help me and if you're in the Cleveland area, go to Aspire Fitness in Beachwood to get in the best shape ever! I am using a trifuel training plan, the advice of vetern Ironman finishers, and some guesswork. My training plan for this week is as follows:
Monday
rest
Tuesday
Bike 1 hour 15 minutes, Run 45 min, weights/core work 30 min (new!)
Wednesday
Swim 1 hour, bike 1 hour,
Thursday
Swim 1 hour, Run 1 hour and 5 minutes, weights/core work 30 min
Friday
Swim 1 hour, bike 40 minutes
Saturday
bike 2 hours and 30 minutes (longest ride yet)
run 45 minus
Sunday
Run 1 hour 40 minutes
So yes, it's a lot and yes, I do miss some minutes, but I figure since I love to write and I need all the motivation I can get, I decided to blog about it, enjoy!
